Panel 1 How do we in Europe fight against poverty? According to Eurostat 72 million women, men and children are at risk of poverty in the EU. What are the strategies which can be implemented to fight poverty in Europe? Panel 2 How can we achieve more employment and education in Europe? In the EU over 19 million people have no job. Employment is an important element in the fight against poverty. Decent work, a concept that includes the rights of workers, equality of women and men, access to quality services and social protection is key to social Europe. Are our governments doing enough to create quality jobs? Are Europe’s efforts toward more and better education enough?
Panel 3 How can we secure social and health care in Europe? In Europe, the number of people who need medical care services, care and attendance is growing. How healthy are Europe’s health systems really? How can health strategies be improved and how can affordable access for everybody to quality medical care be achieved?
Panel 4 How can we finance a social Europe? Cuts in social services and the reduction of the role of the state regarding social responsibility are creating a crisis for many women and men in Europe. How is a modern social system financially feasible? What vision exists for the social future of Europe?
